The Chinese Gold Panda was introduced in 1982 by the Official Mint of the People’s Republic of China. Many people love the pandas because The Chinese Mint changes the design of the Panda each year. The coins are 99.99% pure 24 karat gold. They are issued in sizes of 1 ounce, ½ ounce, ¼ ounce, 1/10 ounce, and 1/20 ounce. The obverse shows the Temple of Heaven, the reverse shows pictures of giant pandas. In 2016, the weight system was changed from ounces to grams. The sizes are now 30 grams, 15 grams, 8 grams, 3 grams, and 1 gram. The mint issues Proof and uncirculated coins. The proof coins come in a box with a certificate of authenticity.
