The Mexico 50 Peso Gold Coin was made in 1921 to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of freedom from Spain in 1821. The 50 peso also known as the Centenario is very popular in Mexico and the United States. The 50 Peso Gold coin was minted from 1921 to 1931, and 1944-1947. Then from 1949-1972 a total of 3,975,654 pieces were re-struck, most likely dated 1947 and an additional 388,800 pieces dated 1947 were struck during 2000 to 2013. The coin is 90% gold and weighs 41.67 grams. It has a total of 1.2057 ounces of gold per coin. The obverse has the national arms of an eagle with a snake in its mouth and the reverse has the winged victory. this image features an Angel of Independence holding the wreath of military victory.

The 5 pesos gold coin has .1339 ounce and has a picture of Miguel Hidalgo. The 2 ½ Pesos gold coin has .0603 ounce and features Miguel Hidalgo. The 2 Peso gold coin has .0482 of an ounce and has “Dos Pesos” with a wreath.
