Description
Silver Krugerrands
The South African Mint introduced the Silver Krugerrand in 2017 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Gold Krugerrand. Like its gold counterpart, the coin features the portrait of Paul Kruger, the former President of the South African Republic, on the obverse. The reverse displays the springbok antelope, one of South Africa’s most recognized national symbols.
Each Silver Krugerrand is struck in .999 fine silver and weighs one troy ounce. Although these coins have no face value, they are considered legal tender in South Africa and are valued primarily for their silver content and investment appeal.
Bullion Quality
The 1 oz Silver Krugerrand comes in brilliant uncirculated condition, typically packaged in tubes or monster boxes for larger purchases. Investors value them for their global recognition, high silver purity, and association with the trusted South African Mint.
Collectibility and Value
Since its introduction, the Silver Krugerrand has gained popularity among both collectors and bullion investors. Proof and special edition releases often feature limited mintages, enhancing their desirability and long-term value potential.
